1. ⁠Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using MeterSnap, you agree to be bound by these Terms, including any future modifications. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App. Your continued use of the App following any changes to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

2. ⁠User Responsibilities

The App allows users to upload photographs of their energy meter readings for their respective energy distribution company (“Distribution Company”). You are responsible for ensuring that the meter reading is accurate and taken on time. You agree that if you fail to submit a reading within the scheduled reading date for the month, the Distribution Company has the right to estimate your energy usage. This estimate can be up to 20% more than your usual monthly usage, based on your past consumption data.

3. Authorization of Meter Readers

You have the ability to appoint a third-party agent (“Agent”) to upload meter readings on your behalf. You are solely responsible for ensuring that the Agent has been authorized by you to access the meter and submit readings using the App. MeterSnap and the Distribution Company are not liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the readings submitted by an Agent on your behalf.

4. ⁠Location Data and Notifications

By using MeterSnap, you consent to the collection and use of your device’s location data. The App may access your geolocation for purposes including, but not limited to, verifying the location of the meter when a reading is submitted.

Additionally, by agreeing to these Terms, you grant MeterSnap permission to send notifications to your device, including reminders to submit meter readings and important updates related to your account or energy consumption.

5. ⁠Liability Disclaimer

MeterSnap acts as an intermediary platform to facilitate meter readings but does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of readings submitted by users or their Agents. MeterSnap shall not be held liable for any penalties, fines, or additional charges imposed by the Distribution Company as a result of incorrect, late, or missing meter readings. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the readings submitted are accurate, timely, and in compliance with the policies of their Distribution Company.

Furthermore, any estimation of energy usage conducted by the Distribution Company due to the user’s failure to submit readings, which may result in higher bills or penalties, is not the responsibility of MeterSnap. You acknowledge that the Distribution Company has the right to impose penalties or take actions based on their terms, and MeterSnap has no control over such policies.

6. Data Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. We will only collect and use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You agree that the App may collect, store, and share your meter readings, location data, and other relevant information with the Distribution Company in accordance with applicable law. MeterSnap employs secure encryption protocols to protect your data, but we do not guarantee absolute security.

7. Termination

MeterSnap reserves the right to terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

8. ⁠Changes to the App

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App at any time, without notice. You agree that we shall not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the App or any part thereof.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Panama without regard to conflict of laws principles.Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms will be resolved in the courts of the Republic of Panama.

By checking the “I Accept” box and using the MeterSnap app, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
